A big thanks once again to Susan and Alistair Thomson for the fabulous late Summer road run which took place on August 17th. Reasonable weather greeted the members who assembled in the Market Muir Car Park in Huntly before setting off on the run of over 100 miles throughout north west Aberdeenshire.
From Huntly, ten cars departed north, exploring parts of the beautiful Moray Firth coast before stopping at Christie's Garden Centre in Fochabers for the obligatory bacon roll, coffee and comfort break before climbing through the Spey Valley to Aviemore. After a refreshing lunch stop, the route took us easterly, through the spectacular Grampians and over the Lecht and then back through Strathdon to finish in Mossat, where everyone dispersed to their various Aberdeenshire abodes!
Next to no tourist traffic made for a great driving day in this beautiful corner of Scotland!
Unfortunately, not many pictures were taken on the run!
