On Sunday August 27th, a number of members ventured north to attend the magnificent Buckie Classic Car Show. We had 12 cars on the Club stand this year and as we have done in the past, we assembled in the nearby Tesco car park so that we could all arrive in convoy.
This show never fails to impress and is excellent value for money for the exhibitors; for the princely sum of £5 entry fee, we were all treated to a tea or coffee and 2 pancakes in the morning, and a fabulous full fish supper at lunch time. It’s no wonder that this event attracts a huge entry – there were over 690 this year, although inevitably there were one or two ‘no-shows’ due to the inclement weather.
In recent years this event has been held in magnificent sunshine but sadly, this wasn’t the case this year – although luckily the persistent drizzle throughout the morning did eventually give way to a few breaks in the cloud and some dry spells. Despite this, as well as a huge entry, the event also attracted a huge number of spectators who were treated to a very impressive array of cars of all types and ages; many of which were outstanding.
A fantastic event and as I think I said last year, definitely one to add to your calendar for next year either as an entrant or a spectator! You won’t be disappointed!
