August 29th - Buckie Show
Last years Buckie Classic Car Show was unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid restrictions which were in place at the time, however the Organisers transferred all 2020 entries to this year’s event which was held at Linzee Gordon Park, Buckie on 29th August.
Following a glorious day on the Saturday, it was rather disappointing to wake up to a very grey and damp Sunday morning but undeterred, around half a dozen Club members braved the elements and made their way up to Buckie for the Show. We didn’t have a Club stand as such and so we were dotted around the field, along with about another 450 cars, motorcycles and lorries of all shapes, sizes and ages!
Luckily the weather stayed dry apart from a couple of very short spells of slight drizzle, and as a result there were lots of spectators wandering around looking at all the cars and watching the dog show!
The entry fee last year was a mere £5 which covered this year’s show and for that, we were treated to a free cup of tea / coffee and a pancake on arrival, and a free fish supper during the day which was outstanding. A huge congratulations to the Organisers for putting on such a fantastic show under difficult circumstances and the number of entries and visitors proves that there is definitely an appetite for this type of event, so hopefully there will be many more to come.
We all decided that we would all return in 2022 and will endeavour to organise a club stand, so keep an eye out for more information – the Show is traditionally held on the last Sunday in August so according to my calendar that will be Sunday 28th – make a provisional note in your diary!
